After a couple of listens, We isn't bad at all. I need more time to actually listen, as opposed to playing it while I work!

Are you serious? Maybe it’s my jaded old ears hearing no more than another bunch of naughty children chucking a tantrum.?

They are one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the past 20 years so...worth giving them a go, at least the first 3-4 albums. ;)

I like this band

One of the best bands ever? I think it's too early to tell. I do love their stuff!

One of the greatest post-2000's bands to reach any sort of cultural relevance imo. Much more interesting than the White Stripes, and much more fun to listen to than Radiohead or Brand New.

The Suburbs is one of those albums for me. A treasure of my teenage years - can't help getting nostalgic every time I listen to it. Certainly helps the effect given the subject matter.

I'm with adidasss though, their latest album wasn't very good. Their last great one was Reflektor, and even that one was a bit of a disappointment in retrospect.

My opinion of them went from "hmm not my thing necessarily but certainly a refreshing presence in the Montreal music scene" to "I will pay you money to not play this band at this café". One of my favorite moments in recent times was seeing them launch an NFT. That was so good.

But they've had their moments, credit where due. I esp like this track where Régine sounds like Bjork. Beautiful melody

Régine does have a great voice. Do you think she sings lead enough on each album? I wonder what the band would sound like if they did more of a Stars vibe, the way Amy and Torq go back and forth?

My favourite song with Régine is Mountains beyond mountains from Suburbs.
