Shop Assistants

Recently came across this band from the U.K. An 80's band that revelled in a noisy pop jingle jangle with infectious hooks and a female lead. Iv'e already snared one MB member now it's time for some more :D

It's not usually my type of thing but it's so effortless you can't go wrong really. PM if needed.

Edinburgh, Scotland in fact, was a very very cool place in the early 80's; Orange Juice and Aztec Camera and everything but to me this band sounds more like the Ronettes (check the drums on Train From Kansas City)... It's bloody Phil Spector! Pounding drums, loads of echo...

But you know, the Ronettes if they had guitars and liked punk and the Byrds

there were a truckload of bands that sounded like this in the 80's but two of the best for me were the Siddeleys and the Flatmates. And those are just the girl-fronted ones.
It's like bubblegum pop meets the punk DIY thing. Perfect when it's done properly

This tip looks to just about beat the Simply Saucer one. Yeah it's nothing groundbreaking but it's a lovely girl's voice over some pretty songs about how relationships are crap, and i'm a sucker for them. I see where the Long Blondes got their ideas from.
