Yeah, that's fair enough. People who don't like a band usually go "meh, crap."

But for people to muster up hate towards them, I wondered what they'd done to people.

I guess it just comes down to the Pitchfork/"Hipster" thing.

I listened to their most recent album and found it pretty damn enjoyable.

I agree with you Urban, as I said I listen to plenty of Pitchfork hyped bands, but Wavves just aren't that great if you want some modern Garage go for The King Khan And BBQ Show.

I'm positive these Hipster people are American, I think we just call them Indie-fags over here.

Although they tend to just like a few small bands from small areas of the country that have about 800 fans.. so basically they're just 'Indie' for Indie's sake.

I don't care at all what Pitchfork or anybody has to say about Wavves.
The guy is simply a horrible musician and that's why I think his band sucks

King of the Beach was surprisingly good. Wavvves was decent as well.

Loving the new record. Definitely a step forward after two mediocre albums with some excellent moments (So Bored, No Hope Kids namely). Awesome production, catchier songwriting, and a MUCH better rhythm section has helped Nathan Williams a lot. Currently King of the Beach stands as my second favorite of 2010, right after Titus Andronicus' The Monitor.

King of the Beach sounds like a good garage rock/lo fi record, Wavvves sounds as if it's trying too hard. The new album has a greater production to it, without it being too glossy. I feel some bands avoid better production in fear of it being too poppy and mainstream but I feel they got it right with this record. Really good. One of my favourite of 2010.
