Calvin Harris?

you either love or hate him..
& yes he is alternative, his album says so!
some of his songs i find ok once they kick in, I'm Not Alone is good once it gets into it, Flashback & Dance Wiv Me Ft. Dizzee Rascal is alright aswell :D
im interested wither the population of MB mostly hate him or not haha!

his album name is 'Ready for the weekend' if anyone is interested :)

FETCHER. 09-04-2009 11:43 AM

should open up a funeral palour in here. place is beyond dead.

Laces Out Dan! 09-04-2009 12:52 PM

I just checked some stuff out. Not my forte. I not into the whole electro/dance stuff so thats probably why hah.

djchameleon 09-05-2009 12:10 AM

I downloaded "Ready for the Weekend" last week and I have only listened to it about twice.

So far , I like the tracks stars come out, ready for the weekend and of course dance wiv me.

He's been working with Dizzee alot lately

I also like this track that he produced with The Mitchell Brothers called Michael Jackson

FETCHER. 11-11-2009 11:43 AM

Yeah, hes been working with a lot of artists you wouldn't expect him to, like Dizzee Rascal, Tiesto etc, hes remixed alot of great songs aswell. I think everyone haes him though. I like him still. Anyways I never seen your post's until today, sorry :( 2 months later. I never came in here, cause its dead.

wickedlk 11-11-2009 11:53 AM

How did this thread end up in here? Surely Calvin comes under the electronica umbrella?

FETCHER. 11-11-2009 11:56 AM

Nope, his album says he's Alternative. Bearing in mind he isn't always Electronica, Dance Wiv Me etc, wasn't electronic. I think he is mainly Electronic, but he comes under Alternative according to his album.

wickedlk 11-11-2009 12:35 PM

But, but Last.fm never lies :(

Anyway I like Calvin, he's pretty cool. Loved Acceptable in the 80's and used t play it non-stop when I was driving. I'm ashamed to say that I haven't really given Ready For The Weekend a decent run, I had better get on it I suppose.

FETCHER. 01-21-2013 06:18 AM

Genuinely love the guy, I think he's one of the best mainstream artists out there undoubtedly. His songs are catchy as hell and always have a steady consistently great beat.

yooooo 01-21-2013 06:58 PM

And Florence= so gooood

sarinity 01-21-2013 07:34 PM

I like Calvin Harris but you have not listened to enough albums in that case.

Have you listened to 18 months yet?

There are only about four or five tracks I liked off that album and they were near the end.

Let's Go with Neyo, Sweet Nothing, thinking about you and drinking from the bottle.

FETCHER. 01-25-2013 04:34 PM

Nah, not yet. I've heard a few songs though, the obvious more popular ones. I don't have money (if I did I would buy better stuff first) and I'm struggling to find decent torrents to download.

FETCHER. 08-30-2013 11:50 AM

How is this thread not popular, he made more money last year than David Guetta, Tiesto, Rihanna and many more. The guy is a freaking genius. Could this thread please be moved into the electronica section.

I'm also going to see him and tiesto play at the new Scottish hydro on 23rd December, cannot wait!!

djchameleon 08-30-2013 12:26 PM

I think he's on the line up for tonight and Tiesto and Steve Aoika are Sunday night. I'm so ready for this! My body is ready!

FETCHER. 08-30-2013 04:40 PM

He is ****ing amazing. I seen him during summer. Enjoy :D.

Edit: can't remember much because I was wasted but it was amazing haha :thumb:

Thinkofthechildren 08-31-2013 07:29 PM

I like 'Feel So Close'. Thats pretty much it. Also, he looks so AVERAGE, its hard to think someone who looks that mediocre is a huge pop star.

Well, I was wrong. He showed up at the other festival before Memorial Day so he couldn't come to E-Zoo :(

But I saw Hardwell, David G and Tiesto back to back on the same stage. I didn't have to move around which I was grateful for at that time of the night but they still had me dancing. Loved it. All my shuffle dance practice and expertise failed me. I was so horrible at dancing to certain songs and also I still say you can dance to dubstep no matter how hard people try lol.

I missed out on seeing a 3-D show done by A-trak :(

Now, I also know what it looks like when someone is tripping balls on Molly. I was offered some but I didn't really have anyone to babysit me for the next five hours so I declined. I had to help this one girl out that was tripping her ballsack off and her friend was being a stupid little baby and not wanted to look after her. Why does Molly make people dry hump the air? I saw like three girls doing it they were laying on the grass just dry humping the air.

Well that's a load of off topic-ness if I ever did see some. I'm done.

breakscape 09-04-2013 04:34 AM

He's not exactly my style.

Checking it out right now. First track is catchy. I'm into some stuff like this so now I'm curious.

JiggleMonster 12-15-2017 12:47 PM

Nevermind, I don't like it.

NoWaySis 02-05-2018 04:59 AM

He is a really good artist and does undeniably produce some bangers. I recently re-listened to [I]I Created Disco[I] album and there are some really happy upbeat tunes on that album.
Personal favorites are Merrymaking At My Place and Girls.

I'm not a huge Calvin Harris fan but I love SZA, so I kinda like this :)
