The Dream Syndicate
Really cool alternative band that was active from 1981-89. They were associated with the Paisley Underground scene and obvious influences were The Velvet Underground and Television. Their album The Days of Wine and Roses is one of my favourite 80's releases; dreamy, experimental pop dripping with feedback.
Anyone fans? |
Like that song you put up,shall download posthaste.
Big fan of 80's indie, but I appear to have neglected the Paisley Underground somewhat having rashly written it off as endless Byrds clones. |
Tut bloody tut.

Awesome band. The title track is epic, too. Nice companion to Marquee Moon. Get me in the mood for some Green on Red.

Great band, Paisley Underground is one of my favourite "scenes".

need to check 'em out, they sound great from your description Stu

I only listened to The Days of Wine and Roses and it's great. Are their other albums that good?
Anyway, I like Opal very much with Dream Syndicate's Kendra Smith and Rain Parade's David Roback. Later when Kendra Smith left it became Mazzy Star. |
theyre okay. they dont inspire me much.
