The Flaming Lips [Dark Side of the Moon Cover]

So I just noticed The Flaming Lips have covered all of The Dark Side of the Moon album. What does everyone think of this? I haven't listened to all of it. But I do think points of the album are interesting. I'm sure many are offended by covering such a spectacular album.
But it's not like they are claiming the music as their own.
Just showing their adaptation.
Thoughts?

Downloading now. Henry Rollins and Stardeath and White Dwarfs are featured on many tracks.

ordinarily i'd scoff at another gratuitous throwback by a current band, but i know the Lips have long had an affinity for Pink Floyd. they covered Wish You Were Here while they were still a trashy punk band and it was uncool at the time to do so.

however, from the two tracks i listened to (Breathe & Eclipse), it doesn't sound like something worth looking further into. Coyne may be a wonderful person but he's FAR from being as versatile a vocalist as he thinks he is.

I did like some of the bizarre sounds the Lips incorporated though. I feel like it sounds great with the way the original Dark Side of the Moon was. I get what you are coming from with the vocals though. I never really did LOVE his voice. But I like a good amount of their music.

I thought it was good. Like I said earlier, there were certainly moments. The musical interpretations of some of the songs were certainly interesting, such as on Breath, which the Lips turn into some sort of krautrock jam. The whole album has a very "Embryonic"-esque feel to it; not sure how to describe it otherwise. Henry Rollins spoken parts add a lot too.

Wasn't too pleased, in all honesty. Admired them at first for trying, but then they totally butchered the poor album.

I remember torrenting it pretty easy. But I can't find my linky.
