Has anyone heard of Blue Foundation? Their album Life of a ghost is actually pretty good.

How about some good afro-pop inspired tunes? I enjoy Vampire Weekend, Paul Simon, Fool's Gold, and most recently Tune-Yards.
Anything along those lines would be great. I've done searches and VW is the usual I find. They can't be that original. Maybe something caribbean/calypso inspired? On second thought, maybe i shouldn't limit myself here. Any *world* music inspired indie pop will fit the bill. Middle eastern, lo-fi, etc. |
Check out Amberwood. A band out of Toronto, Canada. They are really small but they just dropped a Single on their youtube and facebook. Check them out!!

Dexter Strangeways - 'Fiercely Independent'
North London's Alternative Ballad Singer, Dexter Strangeways' music is a contemporary statement that draws parallels with the work of Scott walker, Dean Martin and David Lynch.
His debut single "Bodies", is a sinisterly swoon-some 21st Century ballad, music noir at it's finest. listen to the newly recorded single "Bodies" and other Strangeways' demos soundcloud. A review of the single would be hugely appreciated. Thanks |

I've been trolling through this forum stealing people's favorites so I thought I'd contribute - Here are the songs I've been obsessed with in the past...
And when I say obsessed I mean PLAYING ON REPEAT FOR DAYS! :tramp: |
Hello. I'm a new member, but making an introductory thread seemed unnecessary to me.
Which albums from of Montreal, sigur rós and The National would you recommend? I've heard many people commend them. |
