I've heard Midnight Virtues and Odelay, I'm just wondering what his 5 best albums are. First being the best 5th being the 5th best.

If anyone could give me any insight I'd appreciate it. :)

Mellow Gold>Sea Change>Odelay>Modern Guilt>Mutations

I settled on Sea Change as my third Beck album.

Guess I'm Doing Fine is a beautiful track.

Hey hey,

Recently I haven't been able to stop listening to Cold Fame by Band of Skulls. I love the whole vibe, with a dark, simple guitar sound over an even simpler drum beat.

So here is my request:
I'd love to find some music with a similar vibe and "play [my] 45 records late at night, open all the windows, turn out the light" like Russell says in the song.
I'm open to any suggestions. The music can contain vocals or be instrumental, makes no difference to me. And preferably available on vinyl (although youtube might suffice for the time being :D)

I'm looking for any essential garage rock bands, anyone who can recommend, I will give them a badger.

I thought I hadn't heard of them but I went on Wiki and their page was in purple, so I've researched them before but I don't own any of their albums. They any good?

Here's your badger anyway..

They're from Cincinnati! :D

What do you mean the wiki page was purple?

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. When you Google "something wiki" their Wiki page comes up on Google, if you've previously visited a link the link is purple.. if you still don't get what I mean I'll print screen.

But yeah, I have no idea where Cincinati is. I assume South of America? My Geography isn't great. Even though I know where they're from, that still doesn't tell me if they're good! :(

I get you now. I thought you knew a way to make the whole page purple.

Cincinnati is in Ohio and is a fairly large city, like 30th in the U.S. in population. It also happens to be my hometown, although I grew up in Detroit.

As for The Greenhornes, they have released a compilation album, Sewed Soles (produced by Jack White), if you don't hate that sort of thing. The last original material they have is an EP, which seems like another decent place to start if you don't want to be overwhelmed...

edit: I also remember you taking a liking to The Thermals, so if you are looking for new things to listen to I highly recommend Superchunk if you haven't heard them.
