Currents was a real grower for me. While I don't like its overall sound as much as Lonerism and Innerspeaker, the songwriting and the musicianship are both just as solid. It's nice to see him evolving.

Funny factoid:

Tame Impala's Kevin Parker reveals listening to the Bee Gees while on drugs inspired his new album
Quote:
"I was in LA a few years ago and for some reason we’d taken mushrooms, it must have been the end of our tour,” he told The Guardian in a new interview.

"I was coked up as well, and a friend was driving us around LA in this old sedan. He was playing the Bee Gees and it had the most profound emotional effect. I’m getting butterflies just thinking about it. I was listening to 'Staying Alive', a song I’ve heard all my life. At that moment it had this really emotive, melancholy feel to it. The beat felt overwhelmingly strong and, at that moment, it sounded pretty psychedelic. It moved me, and that’s what I always want out of psych music. I want it to transport me."
Yup, this was the inspiration for Currents:

"Currents" is a grower for sure.

"Same Person..." is one of my favorites as well.

"The Less I Know the Better" is still my favorite, even after weeks of radio overkill.

Loving The Slow Rush (and everything else they've ever done) although I do feel they're on a slight downward spiral.

Saw them twice, one of the nicest concert experiences was seeing a Thai guy who came to Kuala Lumpur to see them who was literally crying from happiness. Love it when music manages to do that...
