Well, seeing as we have a very limited discussion happening, I'll start us off. I thought this album was just decent. I didn't find it very mind-blowing or unique. I did, however, find that the album itself was very emotional and that the musicians poured their soul into it, and for that I see merit in it. But like I said, it didn't stand out too much, and it held that typical indie, lo-fi sound that frequently appears from time to time. Maybe I'm a bit ignorant of its genius, so perhaps I'm missing something. Well... there's my two cents.

Sorry to interject but my copy of this album stinks and was wondering if anyone found a decent quality copy that they could link me/send me?

I loved it, it's a very good album. It does have a very raw sound but this rawness manages to capture the emotion and passion of the band very accurately. The album proves that you don't have to be a great musician to make great music. Although the band are tight as a unit, they aren't exactly virtuosos and certainly can't sing but by writing good memorable songs and pouring all their emotion into the music they succeed spectacularly. I love the collision of guitar noise and melodic vocals on songs like 'Follow' and 'Frame' and even the more mellow and melancholic moments such as 'Behind The Garage' and 'Stove' sound really good.
As Stu mentioned before the album was recorded during the breakdown of the relationship between two of its members, it wasn't as noticeable at first but after repeated listens you start to pay attention to the lyrics a bit more and you start to sense the tension and emotion. The album portrays the feelings of young love gone wrong very nicely.

I agree with this completely. The album was a solid listen but nothing special. I feel like it wasn't much different than the typical lo-fi indie record. Although I rated it just decent, I could tell the musicians were really genuine and, like you said, it was overall pretty emotional.

I enjoyed the album up until "Blinded", which had some of the worst vocals I've ever heard on an indie album, which is saying something. Aside from that track though, quite enjoyable

The vocals on Blinded are a bit dodgy alright but i thought the raw energy of the music made up for it somewhat.

This album garners pretty polarized opinions from friends I play this to as well. The thing about lo-fi indie is that, although the shared production aesthetic does cultivate a general 'signature' sound to an extent, every band and release is different because of the sheer intimacy such records evoke. Every band is different, and the emotions and themes within each band different. This album, to me, sounds a lot different to the likes of Slanted & Enchanted, Bee Thousand, Twin Infinitives etc bercause of what goes into the music on top of the production.

Listened to this last night. I'm the spoil sport that voted mediocre. There's nothing bad about it and it had nice moments ('Allergic to Love'), but I found it just . . meh. Nothing original or exciting about the music - at times it's transparant in its ripping off of MBV's Isn't Anything - and the lyrics that I paid attention to sounded like half assed six form nonsense. I didn't like much of the vocals although there is the odd nice harmony. It's nice to discover something new though I doubt I'll listen to it much again. 4.5/10.
