sorry for yet again a long post

Sorry to ambush your thread but was this poem about self delusion and how the narrator is predicting that he will romanticizes his reflection of his past choices in the future? I got into an argument with my English teacher about this last week. He says at one point that one road is more used than the other but than comes the conclusion that they were used about the same, and then concludes that he took a path that was lesser traveled. Is this a justifiable interpretation?
