Well that's just the way things work for non-pop artists. Inside the alternative and rock spheres Jack White's certain getting major acclaim and album sales.

i like Jack white but im not a fan something about him doesn't quite cut it for me.
sometimes he impresses me with a song but its not enough to make me seek his music out and honestly, the way he looks bothers me a little.. he looks like a Tim burton character.. (Meg white i luv, sooo cute~ <3) i don't have anything bad to say about his music because it is not bad he has some pretty sweet guitar riffs that go from the blues to straight up rock n roll it's just that his music doesn't move me.. |

He is a really great artist... I'm more into Soul/Funk artists but I do listen to some rock. I mostly listen to 70s/80s rock (when I do listen to it) but Ive been listening to alot of Jack White lately and he is like a modern genius lol Even his music videos are very entertaining and artistic... This is ony of my favs at the moment and I love the video! |
I get into a bunch of stuff created by JW, but for much of it, I can't embrace "out-of-tune-is-cool-if-you-have-the-right-attitude/energy-when-performing".

Jack White is somewhere around legend status, surely?
|
He's very led zep influenced, and that's the way to look at the music I think. It's pretty good.
|
Maybe he's not the best guitar player or vocalist in the Universe, but his vision of music and passion are outstanding, and that what makes him stand out from the crowd I guess
|
Jack White...
...is one of my bands influences. Although we do not necessarily sound like him, i always enjoy watching him play guitar. Definitely an inspiring musician!

Jack White is out of date. He belongs in the 60s and 70s, in those halcyon years.
|
Best song he's put out in years. Whatever that last album was some real wtf ****. Edit: Found a normal video |

I love that no matter what Jack White's current look is he always looks like a Batman villain.
|
With better writing than the ****ing Riddler.

I like him. He's very talented, and can write a hook in his sleep. I've only seen him live via the Dead Weather.
His cover of U2's Love is blindness is stellar. It's one of my favourite U2 songs, and he knocked it out of the park. |
That's the one! Coincidentally, this one led me to another band, The Damn Truth. They did a cover of this song as well. Turns out, they're also a damn fine band.

With Jack White I'm almost unsure where to begin. I remember first hearing The White Stripes one night when I was much younger watching some awards show or another. I was pulling for some song or another to win some award or another and remember being upset because "Fell In Love With a Girl" won instead (which I didn't get at that moment and thought it was stupid). Sometime after that I began hearing them on the radio and had to have matured abit because I was starting to dig them.
Years go by and I'm gifted their debut albulm (OK so it was actually a cd) by somebody who had bought it on a recommendation and didn't care for it. They asked if I wanted it and was like absolutely. When I first put it on I was forever hooked. I had become abit of a blues man at that point and hearing that albulm struck a real chord with that. To make what is becoming a long story shorter (because I could go on n on) Jack White is my second favorite musical act (at least overall, not as crazy about his Dead Weather stuff although I still enjoy it.) behind Zeppelin. It is his rawness, his silly simple lyrics, his killer riffs, his voice full of imperfections (my wife can't stand listening to him because of that lol.), it's all of what he is as a musician and all of what he isn't. I love his constant screams for attention in anyway. He is like a carny at a sideshow doing whatever he can to get a sucker to come up n lay a dollar down. He is constantly selling himself and his art and that becomes part of the art. I think Fear of the Dawn is the best piece of work he's done overall period, I've stated elsewhere on these boards I believe it's a sonic masterpiece. I didn't care as much for Entering Heaven Alive but I do think "If I Die Tomorrow" is one of the best songs he's put period. So my opinion of Jack White? Yeah he's pdg. (And btw I did cut this alot shorter because unlike when I was younger I don't have the time to go on n on forever about this kind of stuff lol). |
I am not a HUGE fan but I think he is remarkably talented. I love his raw energy with creative experimentation. His new album shows his abilities to push the boundaries while also staying true to his rock roots.
|
I really liked his 2022 album, "Entering Heaven Alive".
The songs "A Tip From Me To You", "Help Me Along" and Queen Of The Bees" are all top shelf. Thanks for the heads up on the new one." |
I like Jack White, too, although I'm more into the music of Olivia Jean, his wife. I was into her music long before she married White. I've seen her live a couple of times, most recently in January 2020, just before COVID hit. That was the only show I saw in 2020.

Love this! |

They didn't get married that long ago. Her music career began long before she got involved with Jack, so anyone that says she's riding on his coattails is sadly mistaken. |
