I frickin' love the Pixies. My favorite songs are Hey, Monkey Gone to Heaven, and Debaser. Bone Machine is good too.

Yes the Pixies. One of the most refreshing bands I had ever heard when I first discovered them many years ago. Aged on me like a fine wine.

I worry about this new album. What do people think of this prospect? Will it be any good? Speak up if you've seen them in the past year! I'm going to check them out in August to see if they're still up to standard. Fingers (and toes) crossed!

If Frank Black has any brains he will let at let Kim Deal write at least some of the songs for the new album.
Tame, Something Against You, Gouge Away and In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song) are my favourites.

I saw 'em in Minneapolis last November, and I was stuck between the biggest indie-rock geek I've ever seen (I'm pretty sure I saw him again at Modest Mouse in February), and two or three girls who looked to be about twelve (one of them had an Early November shirt), and who most likely attended the show because they heard "Where Is My Mind" at the end of Fight Club.

I enjoyed watching said geek trying to steal the girls' front-row standing positions almost as much as I enjoyed watching the show.

I'm pretty sure Kim Deal was on quaaludes, because through the entire show she stared off into space, and had the biggest smile on her face that I've ever seen anyone have. Or maybe she was just as excited as the indie-rock world to hear the Pixies were re-uniting.

I'm not sure but is Kim Deal's voice still as purdy as it was when she sang Gigantic? Or did she ruin it with cigarettes? Cause i gotta say, that's one of the nicest singing voices I've ever heard.

Oh yeah, she smoked a lot of cigarettes, too.

And it was before I started smoking, so I didn't even get to enjoy it on that level....

Signed,
