I can't speak for anybody else, but I thought you were going to write a bit about these bands to get me interested, instead of just dropping videos. As it is, I don't really watch videos on this site when there are threads for them, but I'll read a nice little review of a band and pick up an album based on that.

Lubricated Goat are my favourite non-Cave Aussie band. Delicious muthafukin noise-rock.

That's what I thought you were suggesting.

These guys sound interesting. Kind of a darker, slightly metal tinged Sigur Ros. Don't know much about them though. Just found them on Bandcamp. Playing some local dates in April.

In that case, this thread might be more appropriate for you.

YES YES I already love this thread!!

Anyone interested in learning up on Aussie music should tune in to Triple J. You can stream online (just google Triple J, sorry can't link yet haven't posted enough :P)

No where better to discover new Australian music. Plus there is great variety of indie genres.

Husky are an Australian indie band that emerged in 2011 and have been gaining critical aclaim here, and they are the first Australian band to sign to American label Sub Pop. They will be headlining their own tour later this year, and from what I've read they should have made an appearace at SXSW in Austin, Texas earlier this year (for any of you Americans here). Their debut album "Forever So" is fantastic. There is a lot of emphasise on harmonic melodies with dreamy vocals and folky instrumentals. The album is very mellow but gives you that warm fuzzy feeling, and I find that it gives off a mystical/romantic vibe. If I were you I would give this album a go. It's perfect for a lazy afternoon and if you are stuck for inspiration for an artwork.

Any type of Australian electro-pop will get attention from me.
