RIP Ween

‘Ween’ Breaks Up After 28-year Run | Long Island Press

Yes, the world just got a lot less brown. Ween is gone, but the Boognish can never die.

Sad sad news. I will miss the Ween (yeah, pretty sure they will be back - some day).

Cold blows the Ween my friends, cold blows the Ween.

Duuuuuuuuude, dick move on Aaron's part!

BastardofYoung 06-01-2012 10:15 PM

Yeah, it is like a break up through Rolling Stone magazine. The worst kind. Like an e-mail break up.

But either way, kinda saw it coming. Ever since that infamous Vancouver show.

Maybe this means another Moistboyz album will happen.

I'm sure Deaner will be fine. He's probably just waving his dick in the wind right now. It's gonna be alright...

BastardofYoung 06-01-2012 10:29 PM

^seriously, the best break up song ever written. "The Mollusk" was my introduction to Ween about 12 years ago.

"Live in Chicago" may well be the best live DVD ever released as well.

I like their version of this more than I do the original:

My gateway song though:

Hell yeah. Now that you mention it, I can't think of any Led Zeppelin song that I like more than that. Also, goddamn Gene looks old - and that was nearly 10 years ago.

Dean will do fine on his own. Here's another beautiful Ween love song from that show - with Dean on the lead vocal:

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! :(

I cannot pretend to have been following them for the past few years but R.I.P. nonetheless. Time for a bit of The Mollusk as mentioned by the OP.

Yeah. Deaner will be alright. He is a captain on a fishing boat as well. I have not watched his fishing show, but I bet it is awesome.

Yes, a captain:

LoathsomePete 06-02-2012 09:51 AM

Balls... I was really looking forward to a new album :(

BastardofYoung 06-02-2012 01:27 PM

have to admit though, Deaner looks pretty content with fish.

All that fishing... could have done a sequel to "The Mollusk". Some sort of album influenced by seafood.

This could very well be the cover, just replace random dude with Gene.

Awww... that's a bummer.

BastardofYoung 06-05-2012 11:19 PM

Apparently not many Ween fans on here. I was expecting a few more comments.

Frownland 06-05-2012 11:33 PM

I had an obsession with GodWeenSatan a while back then had a bad night on stimulants where I listened to that album about 8 times. I'ven't gone back to it since, but the Mollusk is great. I'm, still upset over their break up, though, I've listened to The Mollusk and Chocolate and Cheese a few times since I've heard. Hell, I guess I'll revisit GodWeenSatan since I thought it was so great several months ago.

BastardofYoung 06-05-2012 11:43 PM

That one was actually the last Ween album I heard when I got into them. One of my favorite albums as well.

I can listen to "The Mollusk" over and over and never tire of it. Such a great album, remains my favorite album from them, or, at least the most listened to. They have so many great moments on every album couldn't really pick just one favorite.... but "The Mollusk" would be closest to it.

This song though, is probably my favorite:

this one as well:

Should have made "White Pepper".
