Default Ian Mackaye's New Band "The Evens"

definitely the weirdest (kind of shocking) thing I have heard in a long time. Ian's (Fugazi/Minor Threat/ Teen Idles/ Rites of Spring/ Embrace) new project is definitely astray from anything he's ever been involved in. He actually sings (the snarl/bark totally absent). This band also has very beautiful female vocals as well. Check out the s/t immediately.

Two thumbs WAY Up from me.

OK my ears weren't expecting that, its really good, it just seems a little, what's the word, lethargic ( vocally at least). You sure that's Ian Mackaye?

Yeah, I'm sure everyone will be asking that question once they hear The Evens. I'll admit, there is minimal amount of musical talent involved in this project. But, it's a very "beautiful" sound (I can't think of a better word, forgive me). It's catchy, and shows off a part of Ian's vocal range we haven't seen much of before.
