'Indie' is **** now.

This? This is (still) good though:
Belle and Sebastian - Put the Book Back On the Shelf

Well, I don't know if they're indie or not.

They're poppy, write their own stuff, play their own instruments, and their 2nd album is coming out in a couple of weeks.

I don't know if being sisters has anything to do with it, but their harmonies have an organic quality I liked the first time I heard them.

I don't even know what indie is anymore.
It's not defined by being independent, because that would make it every genre in existence (unless you we consider corporate pop a genre).
So is the official definition these days that it's something involving twee vocals and a feeling of the music being very 'white' and 'suburban'?

Oops. Posted in the wrong damn thread. What have I been listening to lately? Algiers, Black Marble, Death & Vanilla, Vanishing Twin, Beautify Junkyards, the Soundcarriers.

If you are listening to a song and it makes you feel like drinking a PBR and heading down to the local record shop. Then you are listening to Indie.

Let Amy explain

I don't think I've ever heard any Indie because I've never wanted a Pabst.
