Default Johnny Marr - The Messenger

Ladies and gents,

The Messenger is out on Mon 25th Feb but if you can't wait until then Guardian Music are streaming it to listen to online.

It's pretty good.

Thoughts on the album?

FYI the link is...

The link on the Guardian doesn't work, but the songs have been uploaded on youtube.

Johnny Marr is one of my all time favs for his work with the Smiths, but his solo work just doesn't seem to match up. I know he's into the psychedelic sound, but I think it takes a way from composing the snazzy riffs he's brilliant at.

Anyways not a bad album, on par with Johnny Marr & the Healers

Listened to it yesterday and I actually really like it.

Especially the title track, which is nothing like what I thought it would sound like. Here's the video for anyone who wants to listen to it.

I would have liked that song back in my younger days I think, it definitely evokes my teenagery self. Thanks for posting.
