Top 5 Indie Songs
Post your top 5 Indie songs below!!!
Mine are: 1. Mr Brightside - The Killers 2. Chocolate - The 1975 3. When The Sun Goes Down - Arctic Monkeys 4. Use Somebody - Kings Of Leon 5. Crystalised - The XX |
You've got pretty nice favorites, I must say!
At the moment I can't listen to music due to an injury on my left ear, that's why I'm not up to date, and choosing favorites isn't easy, but mine were: 1. The Last Dinosaurs - Time&Place 2. The Neighborhood - Sweater Weather 3. Local Natives - Sun Hands 4. Yo La Tengo - I'll be around 5. Catastrophe & Cure - Quite Alright |
What's the point? Indie is emo, folk, alternative, garage rock, black metal, you name it.

Catastrophe & Cure is an Austrian Indie Band so the accent may be funny. |

Top 5 for me is mostly 80s and 90s stuff, I don't like a lot of newer indie it's a little boring. No particular order, just some faves: Add it Up- Violent Femmes Talking **** about a Pretty Sunset- Modest Mouse Nosferatu Man- Slint (the album is amazing but the rest of the songs don't sound as good on their own as this one does, they need each others' company) When You Sleep- My Bloody Valentine On Fire- Sebadoh |

Xasthur (from southern california, lol) and Mallisa Nadler (indie-folk from DC) collaborated on an album back in 2010 called Portal of Sorrow. She sang background vocals. I must be mentally gay because I just blew your mind. |

"Indie" is a certain sound for me and it sounds at its best when:
1. Sebadoh plays Skull 2. or Liz Phair does **** and Run 3. or Silver Jews plays almost anything 4. or Retribution Gospel Choir does Hide It Away 5. or like The Breeders does something off of Last Splash |
I love the silver Jews, I wanted to put them in my top five, as well as godhead silo, camper van Beethoven, halo benders, and the list goes on.
