Aqueduct

A pretty decent band I came across not too long ago. They play an electro-pop style; i presume fans of bands like Postal Service, Figurine, Magnetic Fields, or The Pulsars (all of whom are very good btw) will like these guys. However, Aqueduct uses more instruments than those bands. Homepage below with mp3s:

I'll be frank, the songs on the website aren't so hot, but they're good to get a feel for what kind of band this is. If you get a chance, try checking out the following songs as well

The Closest I'll Ever Come To Naturally Dancing
As Close As Your Girlfriend Is Far Away
Hardcore days & Softcore Nights

i bought "i sold gold" based on the song hardcore days & softcore nights and the main thing about the album to me is the energy generated from the use of electronics. is such a busy, cool album with a lot of really catchy hooks and choruses- especially heart design, tension and tulsa trap. good band.

hmmm...hate to admit it , but this is probably the first real discovery via this site for me.....this is exactly what i'm into right now, great beat/drums and catchy....a lot of people are comparing them to the postal servise, how DO they compare?

adidasss 06-26-2005 04:15 PM

wow, after downloading hardcore days softcore night i immediately started to download the entire album ( i can tell if it's going to be great just by one song )and i'm blown away.....another perfect 10 in my collection, fantastic, again by far the best find through this site....

They have the similar catchy electro-pop style that Postal Service perfected. There's a lot of good bands that play this kind of music lately. I love it.

adidasss 06-26-2005 04:54 PM

do you? but it falls in the same group as the killers and the bravery , doesn't it, good beats with a dash of electronics/synth? and if you do have other similar bands, please share!

Sneer 06-27-2005 02:23 PM

check out "clor" damn you. i cant rate this band enough.

adidasss 06-27-2005 03:47 PM

you talkin to me?

Sneer 06-28-2005 01:56 PM

yes.

adidasss 06-28-2005 01:56 PM

man, don't suggest bands that don't even have an album out yet! you're just titillating me and i don't like to be titillated
btw downloaded love and pain..good stuff, sounds like a remix of david byrne

adidasss 06-29-2005 07:53 AM

DidierD 06-29-2005 10:53 AM

adidasss 02-05-2007 05:10 PM

Hmmm...you're right, the remix won't play, I actually downloaded it from Soulseek, it seems I've lost my copy a while back.
But the album link works for me.

This Cd is one of my favorites for the week. Its cool how he uses synth but stays away from the whole 80s pop thing. Simple vocals keep it together. We got this CD in the mail at the station, and its going on heavy rotation for this week. Favorite songs are Living a Lie, Broken Records, and Split the difference.
