Default Siouxsie

She's one of the most important alternative artists. She pioneered the post-punk movement in the late 70's, became a driving force of post-punk til 1984 and then evolved in alternative. Her second band The Creatures also released intriguing albums that have been praised by Jeff Buckley and PJ Harvey in persons. Siouxsie's solo career is also impressive. "Mantaray", is a very good album, especially with tracks like "If it doesn't kill you" and "Loveless".

She's been covered by Jeff Buckley, Tricky, Massive Attack, LCD Soundsystem.
She's been cited by Radiohead, Johnny Marr. etc...

She's alternative because she has released pop singles and avant-garde albums tracks. In fact, the 2/3 parts of her discography is alternative genre.

I saw that she's in concert this monday in London at the southbankcentre. The bill of the Meltdown festival is impressive this year. I wish I had tickets for Iggy Pop.
