Default Perhaps I can make you enjoy post-rock...

...With some 3rd wave post-rock. It's no longer all about repetition, slow build, epic track lengths and being instrumental. It's mostly instrumental but vocals have been allowed back in as long as they're used as another instrument and not the centre of the music.

65daysofstatic - I Swallowed Hard, Like I Understood

Hood - The Negatives

Blueneck - Le:465

Early post rock is where it's at

Yeah post-rock haters could like old school post-rock too, it isn’t as slow and repetitive.

I should add I love the repetitive post-rock as well.

Whenever I see "Post Rock" mentioned I can't help but think of Rock Post Rock by Polvo. I don't actually know if the song "technically" falls under the umbrella of Post Rock. I'm pretty darn sure some Post Rock Purist will correct if it's not. (But I'm a Post Purist so I'm so post caring if it isn't.) Whether it's Post Rock or not, it still rocks and has "Post Rock" in its title.

Polvo - Rock Post Rock

This is an ignorant, stupid elph take that actually speaks to me.

65daysofstatic...I saw them open for the Cure years ago. I remember them being VERY loud, but not in a bad way. I don't remember much of the music. The reason for that is I had so much excitement built up to seeing the Cure. Robert Smith and co. also played four encores. Sorry 65ers, I promise to check you out again!

The term post-rock confuses me, to be honest. If we're talking instrumental bands, Explosions in the sky and This will destroy you stand out for me. Explosions The earth is not a cold dead place is just awesome. Mogwai is pretty good too.

Thanks for posting that. It’s got a very subtle slow rythmic undertow and dreaminess. Make a great movie soundtrack. Not sure though how it can be termed post rock. I don’t hear much rock in it.
