Blergh... Don't really like 'em.

His voice is too high and annoying.

Girls Can Tell is excellent, looks like I'll be listening to this bunch a lot in future.

A Series of Sneaks is their best album, IMO...

I saw them at SXSW in March and they were one of the best bands I saw that entire week. The new album is great but I still think their all time best is Kill the Moonlight, I dont think that album gets the love it deserves.

Kill The Moonlight is indeed their best. However, it is showered with love and appeared on numerous best-of-the-decade lists. Not saying it isn't worthy, just that it does receive its share of accolades. Love listening to it when shuffling around the downtown area for some reason.

saw them again at primavera - were very good!

Didn't know that, when most people talk about Spoon they dont bring that album up mostly just Gimme Fiction.

I must've heard I turn my camera on about a million times on random Tv commercials though...never knew who played it.

Adidasss, I saw your post today about Spoon's song "Finer Feelings" down in the lounge, and I agree with you completely that it is a nicely crafted pop song! Catchy, kind of sweet, lots to listen to in it. I'd never heard the song before today.

I especially like their use of guitar in this song. They tease you with a few notes of electric guitar in the beginning, then they offer longer passages later, and finally a full out rhythm guitar section with solo electric guitar, too! Then, so things aren't boring, they have a simple acoustic guitar section thrown in to break up the song nearer to the end. And, like someone mentioned earlier in the thread, the rasp in that man's voice is very...appealing.

I don't know what they are singing about, but I'll take your word for it that it's about a magazine!:p: I got distracted by the sounds and didn't listen to the words much!

"The Underdog" is their song I hear most often on the radio, but I prefer "Finer Feelings" to it. However, I do like "The Underdog's" energy and song structure with its distinct sections that blend together and change throughout the song slightly, incorporating clapping, trumpets, tambourine, etc.

i listened to their latest once and thought it was pretty bad by their standards. i have such a backlog of stuff i need to hear that i'm not sure when i will hear this again. has anyone else heard transference?
