My grave marker (before it got destroyed) was a cast iron stand holding bird feeders because Izzy had been a birder in her day. I hadn't gotten around to planting anything in that spot yet because I wanted her body to decompose into the soil a bit first (I take soil-building VERY seriously). I had actually been considering azaleas for the spot, but I'm leaning toward catmint. I plan on making a "kitty garden" in that corner of my yard planted with feline edibles and some fun bird watching perches.

I'd say azaleas are a good choice. Hardy, big, and nice to look at. We often go with trees though, or something else that will likely be there for years to come. Of course we also have a pretty big ****ing yard, so we can afford to give our many cats tree graves.
