They made The Lounge to be posted in. And if I post in it, I'm contributing. I'm a regular user because I post regularly on MB. I wasn't bored. I just made it cos I thought someone with George W Bush in their name was funny. Unfortunately, he got banned because he couldn't abide by simple rules...
Anyway, this is the introductions forum, and I was introducing him. Bit of a waste of time seen as he got banned pretty quickly, but oh well. And the reason I hardly ever post in the music forums is because I find it boring and tiresome, always arguing with people who have different tastes in music to you and they try to change your opinions. Now you'll probably say that this is a music forum and if I don't want to talk about music then why am I still posting. Well the reason is that the people on this forum are the most amusing bunch of people on any forum, and its good to find a forum like this. If The Lounge is closed, then I will stop posting in it. But as long as it is kept open, I will continue to post in it. It is the most interesting forum on this place, and gives you a good escape from the 'No this band is better!' and 'That band sucks' rants going on in all the other forums. If there is an interesting thread in one of the music forums, then I will post in it. But at the moment, in my opinion, all the good stuff is happening in The Lounge.

There are rarely "this band is better" or "this band sucks" threads popping up anymore. Because people are making topics about bands in order to introduce people to more music. Don't just complain about it, be part of the solution. Make a thread about your favorite band and share them with everyone else.

so... how come whenever hobojesus ****s up and someone calls him on it, he has to write a novel about it. suck it up. introductions are for people to introduce themselves. and it wasn't funny.

I just write what I have to say, and if what I have to say is long then it's going to be long. And RAR I do write about my favourite bands etc. The problem I have with the music forums is that it seems to be whenever someone creates a thread it always turns into a discussion aboutwhich band is better, which band is worse and whatever. I just can't be bothered to get into the same old arguments over and over again. I would be part of the solution but I really don't think it's worth the fight. It never seems liek anyone changes.

Then don`t go into threads called things like The 'Beatles vs The Stones' , or 'who`s the best band' and you`ll be fine

I don't go into threads like that, it just seems like these type of conversations spill into the good threads. Maybe it's just my luck that I'm picking out all the bad threads, but it just annoys me that I go into a thread that seems interesting and then it gets spoiled by someone arguing pointlessly about 'how this band is better' and 'how this singer is rubbish.'

If it bugs you that much, why post on a music forum?

TrampInaTux 02-05-2006 04:53 AM

Read one of my previous posts, I explained this before. I think this forum is great, and like to post on it because the people on here are great to talk to. I also post regularly on the Song Writing forum, a type of forum that you can get nowhere else. I occasionally go into the music forums, if there is a thread that looks interesting. I just seem to be unlucky enough to like a thread, then see it crumble because some idiot has started a pointless argument because they don't like the band. If they don't like the band, then why post in the band's thread?
