First off...there's no such thing as "American/English".

There is English and then there is badly spoken/written and pronounced English. The latter of which, our great colonial cousins from across that vast expanse of water known as the Atlantic are familiar with.

American English is a myth, fabricated and perpetuated by a nation of people, who's culture is a collage of our own sacred and ancient ways, laminated onto their own cheap imitation facade and proclaimed to the world as, "Americana".
Examples of which include;

Baseball (Rounders which is a girls game btw), apple pie (how original), McDonalds (supersize me...not!), Superman (gimme a break), the Diner (Cafe's), barbed wire (congratulations), wagon trains (yee-har), American Football (Rugby for lesbians) and NASCAR (poor man's Formula 1).
