Semi-new and haven't introduced myself
 

I've been a member of quite a few message boards but I joined music banter because quite frankly, none of the people on those other boards knew what they were talking about. I read the boards for a few weeks before joining, and was thrilled to find people who not only know how damn important music, but also know a boatload and a half about it.

I like most manifestations of rock (acid, blues, progressive, etc), folk, experimental, and I'm really big into traditional Irish/Celtic music.

Well howdily doodily, neighborino! I'm fairly new myself, & I'll agree with you: the people on here are easy to get along with and they DEFINATELY know their music. Looks like you have a good taste in music. You said you like traditional Irish/Celctic music. Have you ever heard of the Corries? If not, I suggest you give them a listen. Very good traditional Scotish/Celctic duo.

That's how you embed youtube vids. (But remove the asterisks)

Here's a random youtube code taken from the site...http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xaTzosHRUP8

1. Copy the part of the code to the right of = from the vid you want. (the bolded bit in the example above.)
2. Click on this icon http://www.musicbanter.com/attachmen...st-youtube.jpg in the advanced post option and paste code between the tags generated.

Im sure you'll get a long well with a lot of the folk here!

Just found out that a girl I did not want to date was directly related to the guitarist for Sonic Youth. (first cousin) What a bummer for me.
