Default Guess I should have done this a while ago...

Hello all!

I've posted a bit by now so some of you may or may not have a feel for my personality but I thought I'd introduce myself officially... long overdue. My name is John, I live in Boston, MA, Somewhat United States of some place we took a while back. I am a music lover first and foremost, and I play drums as a hobby. My desk job allows for plenty of time to piss away on this lovely forum.

I won't list any bands here but as far as my musical taste goes, I hate genres... I like music that defies classification, or defines it. I'm super open to new things. I've learned over and over again how I can grow to like something I might not initially have been interested in. I try to keep a level head, I usually hate to argue, and I openly invite all to dash my ego any time it shows its ugly head. Thanks to all, see you around.

-J-

Nice and sweet intro post.

I like that you like music that defies/defines classification, this is an interesting taste, maybe name one band that you feel exemplifies this?

Being open = the way to be.

Thanks for the kind words... a few that defy: Bjork, Bone Gunn, Bill Frisell, Bela Bartok, Georgy Ligeti. Some that define: James Brown (funk), Miles Davis (many different specifics of jazz), D'Angelo (neo-soul), McClusky (they're own breed of alt./punk).... yeah I could probably go on and write a dissertation on this topic but I'll leave you with those examples.
