Default Its about time I joined another online community

Man, I don't know where to start! Its been over 4 years since I actually joined any online community, and I have no idea why this one piqued my interest. Hopefully my musical tastes won't clash too much with anyone else's, but even if they do, nothing like a good spirited argument right?

Anyways, believe it or not, music discussion isn't my only reason for joining! I also play guitar and do a little self recording on the side, so I plan on visiting the artists' section quite a bit! A question before I go, is there any section devoted to listening to songs and then giving criticism on it? If so that would be awesome. Thanks to anyone who welcomes me, and I believe that I'll start posting now.

The only thread I can think of matching your description is the Metal Battle thread where each person reviews the song posted by the previous person then posts a song for the next one to review.

What bands you enjoy?

I'm honestly not really a metal fan, but I do listen to it from time to time. (I prefer hardcore if I'm gonna listen to fast distorted guitars)

At the current moment in time my favorite band has to be Cold War Kids. Loyalty to Loyalty hasn't been taken out of my CD player for about 3 weeks! I'm also a big fan of the Eels, Blur, the Flaming Lips, and other bands like that. I honestly listen to everything but modern country. That is the one type of music that makes me want to punch people, but I suppose being raised in the country does that to people.

Edit: Why does it count my posts as 0?

you don't get posts in the Community Center added to your post count. You'll have to post in the forums pertaining to music!
