Thumbs up I'm tgpo

I'm tgpo. I'm a punk fan who has played bass for 14 years. I'm an avid music collector who just recently began to collect vinyl.

Welcome to Music Banter.

I've heard of two of the bands on that list.

I like one of them.

Misfits are amazing. I've seen them live and the current singer is an absolutely wonderful person. What's your favourite album by them?

Static Age. It's their first recorded album, but wasn't released until much later. At that point they hadn't completely engulfed themselves into the horror punk regatta.

I'm not big fan of their re-united albums. It sounded more like a Misfits cover band than the band itself. And their current form with Jerry Only playing bass and singing, I can't get into at all. They've almost become a self mocking Spinal Tap of a band compared to what they once were.

How about you, what's your favorite Misfits album?

Well the first album I bought by Misfits was "Famous Monsters," so I think I'll always have a special bond with that one.

I know how you feel about the band sounding more like a cover band. In reality, when I saw them live, they were playing too quickly for me to recognize the songs they were playing until about half way through them. I don't know if they'd always been playing that way, though, so I don't have TOO much to complain about.

Ditto. I started with Famous Monsters and worked my way backward. Once I crossed from Graves era to Danzig era, I never looked back.

Static Age was slower and moodier than their other stuff. They didn't hit the breakneck speeds until later with Walk Among Us. This is why Static Age stands out to me. While all their stuff is good, Static Age is different and more interesting to me.

I'm thinking I might do that, too. I'm working on a discography from another band, though, so I'll have to wait.

I don't mean the actual music, I'm familiar with some of their older work. But at the concert, they were playing at lightning speed.

Sounds like perhaps you and I listen to new bands the same way. From start to finish, album by album.
