Can't think of anything witty, so I'll just say Hi...

Hi everyone,

So I'll just wade in then. My name's Gem, (Gemma if I've done something wrong), I'm the wrong side of 25 and I'm from glorious Medway in Kent. Should you know the area I can assure you that I do not wear tracksuits and massive gold earrings and do not survive on a diet of Stella, Fish Fingers and misery...

I'll try and keep the preferred music list fairly short, but it includes Bjork, Regina Spektor, Ryan Adams, OCS, The Clash, The Specials, The King Blues, Jamie T, A1 Bassline, Rusko, Groove Armada, Massive Attack, Shy FX, The Postal Service, American Analog Set, among many others...

That's about it really. I drink a lot of tea, I'm a vocalist in a band (when we can be bothered to actually go do gigs) and I'm just starting to learn the ukulele. Everything you need to know in a nutshell!

Be gentle with me...

I only know one thing about the area and I'm going to use your response to it to gauge your taste in music the whole time you are on this forum.

It's two words..

Are you ready?.....

BILLY CHILDISH

Haha, I wondered if anybody would catch on.

To be honest, Punk isn't really my preferred genre, though Thee Headcoats would be my choice if I had to pick. I'm more of a fan of the stuff he did with the Singing Loins in the early 90s, folky Irish music. Saying that, I've been lucky enough to see The Buffs and it was pretty awesome. 'Medway Wheelers' does make an appearance now and then on my ipod.

As far as anything else goes, his art isn't to my taste, though I appreciate what he does for the art community and his poetry readings never really grabbed me.

Oh, and respect to the bloke for being pretty friggin' awesome, but his moustache is rubbish.

Gauge away...!

Good enough for me.
But you lose one point for the tashe comment. It's a work of art.

Tea Supremacist 06-07-2010 07:56 AM

Perhaps it's an underlying resentment to those who can grow such facial art. But for me, it's like Lemmy's mole - Terrifyingly compelling to look at, thus taking my concentration away from everything else...

Urban Hat€monger ? 06-07-2010 07:57 AM

Dissing Lemmy's mole as well? :(

And you started off so promisingly
