Hey, I'm from Israel, and mainly interested in indie music, but kinda transcend genre if the material is of high enough quality. 21, and a computer programmer, and I play bass. err, that's kinda it.

Who are your favourite bands?

Well, it changed, like, every week. But it seems Spoon, Radiohead and Blonde Redhead stuck with me for a while now. Beck is also somewhere up there, as are Muse and Islands.

Oh, and Pink Floyd are kind of a nostalgic "Always There" thing for me, although I don't listen to them that much anymore.

I like your taste, I don't listen to much Spoon and Blonde Redhead but still.

I love Radiohead and Beck. You seem like you have decent tastes.

Do you like Modest Mouse? If not, you should. :(

Modest Mouse? I really like the "Good News for people who really like really long album titles, I mean, really?" album. The others are pretty good, but there's usually only a song or two from each that is on the usual playlist. Although "The Cold Part" is one of my favourites of all time. If we're on the subject of MM, Built to Spill are also great. I know they don't seem related too much by their music but the two bands always kinda went together as far as I can remember myself.

Also, Spoon are brilliant, IMO. It may take a few listens but as far as hard-hitting rock'n'roll this side of QOTS they're just amazing. If in doubt, just listen to "Change my Life" and follow the intro as it climbs. It's really... Strong.

Though Good News was my first favourite. Built to Spill are brilliant as well, there are definitely similarities between the two bands except Modest Mouse are far superior. But I do love Built To Spill.

I've heard all of Spoon's records, except for maybe 1 or 2 and I think they're pretty good. But I don't like them that much, but I'll listen to whip out their albums now and again. I like you!

Any views on The Pixies, Sonic Youth and Dinosaur JR?

As far as I remember, "Lonesome Crowded" had some VERY VERY GOOD songs, but also quite a bit of chaff, so I always remember it a bit messy. Might need to get a closer listen sometime. Pixies are ok, they're kind of a childhood band of mine so I listen to them now and again, but not religiously. Sonic youth are a bit of a blank spot, since I only got a chance to listen to Sister, which I liked, but somehow never got around to getting to know them.

And unfotunately, I never heard a single song by Dinosaur JR. Since it seems like your tastes run quite close to mine, I'll try giving them a spin. Any particular recommendations?

Lonesome Crowded is perfect, there's so much bitter-sweet.
More bitter than sweet, mind.
Isaac's lryics really gave an insight into his mind set, I can see why one would see it as being "messy", but I personally think it's a wicked record that takes you on a bit of a journey. It's one pissed off rocking album. TM&A always seems more reflective to me.
Sonic Youth Daydream Nation is perfect, I also like Goo a lot.

Dinosaur JR's best album is You're Living All Over Me.
But I'm a big fan of Bug
Farm and Beyond are also extremely good.
