Default Hiya

My name is Bridgette, 15, female.

I'm always open to new music and recommendations, so lay em on me.
Most of my music taste comes from indie/alternative, classic rock, and metal genres. Some of my favorite bands are Candlemass, Animal Collective, Beirut, Neutral Milk Hotel, Social Distortion, and the Stooges.

I also dig a bit of Candlemass and The Stooges. Funhouse is one of my favourite records. I like what I have heard of Beirut too.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome to MusicBanter, Bridgette!

You want new music recommendations. Hmm. Have you heard of Siddharta, an ex-Yugoslavian band? Here are two of their songs, which sound like melodic metal to me. Since you like metal, I thought they might appeal to you. I learned about this band through MusicBanter:

Siddharta - "Domine" (I'd post their official "Domine" video, but it is a little risque, so here is a live version)

Siddharta - "Ring"

And for a completely different genre, have you heard the following electronica song? This is one of my favorites! The song may be an acquired taste...but it was *my* taste the first time I heard it, here on MusicBanter:

Eskamon - "Fine Objects"

I'm only familiar with Siddharta's Nord album, but I really liked 'Ring'. I'll definitely check out their other work.

And my god, I loved that Eskamon song. Anything with that dubstep/heavy bass sound to it just hooks me. I just looked into them, too bad they don't have a full-length album yet...

I'm glad you liked "Ring," Bridgette.

And I'm especially pleased that you loved the Eskamon song!! Isn't it great? So gritty and deep and delicate and intense, all at once. I love the heavy bass dubstep sound, too. That song is just so delicious, I never get tired of listening to it. I wish I could hear "Fine Objects" on a sound system with good subwoofers!
