New here

Well not much to say.

Obviously I love music since I joined a music forum.

Huge fan of sludge metal, crust punk, grindcore, hardcore punk, powerviolence, thrashcore, crossover thrash, thrash metal, and alternative rock.

Like some death metal, black metal, country, and hip hop.

Play guitar, a bit of bass, and sometimes jam on drums.

Anyway just saying hey looks like a cool place so I plan on sticking around.

Hank The Drifter 01-26-2011 05:39 PM

I clicked this thread so quickly after seeing "Buzzov*en", dude. Welcome. Some great taste you got going on there man. Hope you stick around.

Buzzov*en 01-26-2011 05:46 PM

Some great stuff there man! I'm a fan of everything bolded but Electric Wizard, Pig Destroyer and Tom Waits in particular are absolute favorites of mine. :)

ThePhanastasio 01-26-2011 11:07 PM

Really dig a lot of the hardcore punk, folk / country / blues, and Tom Waits that you mentioned. I like a bit of the other stuff, too, though - Good taste!

In particular, kudos for the Richard Thompson, Bob Dylan, and Tom Waits!

Welcome, man!

Buzzov*en 01-27-2011 12:04 AM

Thanks guys.

The Batlord 01-27-2011 01:36 PM

Dude, I don't think I've ever heard of power violence before. Must look into this. Oh, and welcome, the entrance fee is five bucks.

Hank The Drifter 01-27-2011 03:16 PM

^While I listen to powerviolence its certainly not a genre made for most people. With that being said if you're a fan of grindcore or chaotic music in general and are open minded, you can probably get into it. Most people would recommend you Infest, which I do, and Magrudergrind, which I do, but I am going to link you to Infest and Despise You instead. Also, Man Is The Bastard is another big band in the genre.

/sorry for hijacking this welcome thread. :(

The Batlord 01-28-2011 11:15 AM

Sounds like hardcore at double speed. I can here the dude in Infest yelling about "unity", so yeah, it sounds like really fast hardcore.

Hank The Drifter 01-28-2011 03:04 PM

Infest was one of the early bands in the scene so they were a bit more hardcore oriented than many of the newer bands. Yeah.

s_k 02-02-2011 06:32 AM

Banned already? What the **** happened there?

djchameleon 02-02-2011 07:12 AM

you weren't around when it happened and got swept under the rug. it's no big deal and probably just a temp ban

s_k 02-02-2011 07:14 AM

Allright then.
I don't ever understand temp bans (either you **** up good or you talk about it).
But I'll see him coming back sometime then.

He was pretty blatantly taunting one of the mods. I read the post that got him booted out or temp banned. I figured it was going to happen soon the way he was acting.

Dirty 02-02-2011 07:19 AM

He was basically being a huge douche in several threads. I am guessing he won't come back, and if he does will act the same way. He seems like that type of person to me.

s_k 02-02-2011 07:24 AM

Ghehe, it's never to late to learn from Mr. Dirty ;).

I dunno. I didn't have any problems with him. Didn't care about him either.

Yeah some of his comments were just totaly irational. Not funny in the least cause im not one to bash rebelious behavior but going about it in an intelligent way he did not. Nor was he funny.

Exactly. He was being a huge troll in a few threads and was told to stop several times.

s_k 02-02-2011 07:45 AM

I sort of unintentionally avoided him, I guess.
Ah well, he'll probably stay clear of this place after he reads this :D.

Well that's ultimately up to him if he decides to rejoin this community. If he does, he needs to cool it right down with the troll-y posting.

This doesn't need to be discussed any further so I'm locking the thread.
