Hello people.

Hey guys, Sean here. So, I like a lot of stuff, but I would say my favorites are Alternative, slow Pop, and whatever Mumford and Sons are, I can't figure out. Other than music, my interests are writing, intelligent/ethical discussions, and some video games. Oh, and I used to be a big fan of Captain America, as you might be able to tell. So, yeah. Hope to meet some cool people here, be exposed to some new bands, and just have a good time.

Hi Sean. I like your taste in music. Hope you enjoy it here :) Welcome

s_k 04-04-2011 05:59 AM

Welcome!
Allright, now name some other bands than mumford and sons.
As it seems everyone likes mumford & sons except for me :D.

Oh yeah, when you registered you got this set of forum rules you clicked past, right?

I don't mind you being 13, but you may want to hide your age :D

Is that enough Avengers for ya?

Ah, didn't even see that. Thank you.

Il Duce: They are probably off fighting villains somewhere. xD

I too dislike Mumford and Sons, I just don't see it. I did meet one of them at Benicassim last summer. Lovely fellow, borrowed a chewing gum and sympathised with me as I puked against a fence, things went downhill when he asked if I had enjoyed the set and I had to ask him who he was and then explain that I had gone to Hot Chip instead!

Welcome aboard Cpt America, you've a fantastic grasp of spelling and grammar for a young man growing up in this sad era of smiley faces, emoticons and abbreviated language. More power to you.

Well I don't dislike their style. But every friggin' song is the same.
It starts slowly, then there's some text, then there's a bit of rest and then it goes boom boom boom boom. Every single song the same. Pity.

Hahaha, well at least you were honest.
I had that choice once too. Hot chip or Mumford. I didn't want to go to either of them but a friend of mine wanted to see Mumford. It was so ****ing crowded there. Half the festival stood at the tent where mumford was playing... Strange thing.

Hahaha, he did use the typical 13 year old "xD" though :D
But indeed, could be worse.
I should add though that I am a big time user of emoticons myself when I'm on the internet.
Doesn't change the fact that I am very well capable of writing properly indeed --> :D <--

Sorry, on a forum I visit a lot, that's the code for the smiley face emoticon, and I figure emoticons are better than lol. :D

Oh but S_K imagine the convoluted string of superfluous synonyms, alliterative adjectives and assonant adverbs you could be using to express what those cute 'ickle' faces mean!

s_k 04-04-2011 06:44 PM

I could... in Dutch. But that wouldn't be very useful here would it? :D.
Nevertheless, I just decided you rock because of that posting.
Languagefreaks ftw!
Omg I said ftw
lol...
It's a virus... Get it away from me asap!

Ahem.
So far for intelligent discussions Sean.
But I'm sure you'll fit in. You really don't seem like 13 so far. That's a good thing.
And even if you were, people have to be 13 at some point :D

Nosferatu Man 04-04-2011 06:45 PM

Well you type like a native english typer! I have made that mandatory trip to Amsterdam, twice actually, great country you got going on!

s_k 04-04-2011 06:47 PM

Haha, yeah I get told that all the time, but it's kind of like a pianist playing after he broke three strings. The audience isn't going to hear it, but he sure as hell is having a hard time making it sound as good as possible.

Is a trip to Amsterdam mandatory? Really? :D
It's a nice city, but I'm more a countryside type of guy
Eitherway, we're messing op Sean's topic here :)

Nosferatu Man 04-04-2011 06:51 PM

Apologies Sean, seeing as you are a Mumford and Sons fan you might enjoy Jeremy Messersmith, The Thrills or Neil Young With Crazy Horse.

s_k 04-04-2011 06:56 PM

Mumford & Suns and Young + Crazy horse? I don't see that combination.
But maybe I'm missing out on something.

Nosferatu Man 04-04-2011 07:02 PM

I was going for vaguely countryish rock?

TockTockTock 04-04-2011 07:40 PM

Captain Planet > Captain America :D

Welcome to Music Banter.

Howard the Duck 04-04-2011 08:24 PM

Captain Caveman > Captain Planet > Captain America

about Mumford & Sons, all this talk actually gets me interested to check 'em out

Mojo 04-05-2011 05:29 AM

Smileys are alright. I don't even mind text-talk, aslong as it's in a text message.

I have encountered people actually SAYING "lol" and "OMG" though, and this is unacceptable. These people are no longer with us.

Cpt. America 04-05-2011 02:41 PM

What about Captain Crunch?

Howard the Duck 04-05-2011 10:11 PM

or Captain Kangaroo?
