I'm Silchas Ruin, and if you get the origin of my name, you're pretty cool in my book. Anyway, I like to write and listen to music and this looks like a pretty vibrant forum with a few writing sections so that's cool. I like all of the standard cool hipster stuff I guess, like Neutral Milk Hotel, Arcade Fire, Animal Collective, The Velvet Underground, Public Image Limited, I could go on.

I have no idea where your name is from. I guess I'm not cool. But, I'm curious now about your name. So, will you reveal its origin, or give some hints maybe?

Nice avatar. The Velvet Underground are among one of my favorite bands. I believe that's a picture of them in Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable.

Did you get your name from the book "Midnight Tides" by Steven Erikson? I think it's part of the series Malazan Book of the Fallen. Correct me if I'm wrong.
