*post contains ninjas*
Okay, so that might have been a lie, this post doesn't actually contain ninjas... OR DOES IT? You'll never know. Either way, you clicked it, so that's a start!
Hello. I'm Vonny, I dwell in Edinburgh, Scotland. I play lead guitar in band called Echo Arcadia - have been noodling away on the axe since the ripe old age of 7, so I reckon I can hold my own with most. Spend most of my days gigging and doing band stuff, and when I'm not doing that I'm making ends meet by drawing pictures and building websites for people (yes, that art degree seems totally worth it now...) Anyway, as you've probably gathered, I'm new, and new things are only exciting for two minutes until something newer comes along. So please say hi. I don't bite, unless there's good reason ;) Vonny x |
Hey, welcome! I admit, I clicked because of ninjas.
So, beside playing guitar and drawing, what do you listen to? Tell us some favorite bands. |
Hmmm, my tastes are pretty varied, and it all depends on my mood really. Favourite bands of all time are Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure, Joy Division, Echo and The Bunnymen, Nirvana, Tool, Metallica, QOTSA.... The list goes on, my music collection is vast. Basically if it has guitars, good melodies, catchy riffs, or makes me 'feel' something, I like it.
*ahem* also a bit of a classical music/jazz fan too *ahem* What about you? |
you're cute
velkommen - what you listed are some of the stuff I listen to the most |

Welcome to MB! |
Favorite jazz musician?
|
Thank you for the warm welcome!
As for Jazz... well, that's been more of a slow-burning love, fostered out of my very first boyfriend being a jazz drummer. Don't go out of my way to listen to much in the way of current Jazz composers, though I go to see SNJO often when they play (one of my friends, Alyn, is their resident drummer). Saw them play with guitarist John Scofield recently, and he was just insane. As for what I like though; hmmm. Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, Theolonius Monk, Cannonball Adderley, nothing too obscure. |

So this post doesn't contain ninjas? This is just like the ninja parade...
Anyway you have some good taste in music in my own opinion. So that's cool. Welcome. :wavey: |
I ask only for evidence of whether you shred.
|
Haha, how's that for an introduction? Very nice.
If that's you in the avatar this is going to be a long thread. Longest intro thread 2011 now goes between Holly and you. Welcome by the way. You mentioned some great bands both in the rock and the jazz 'section'. You may want to try out Kenny Dorham's "Quiet Kenny". Underrated :) |
^^yeah we're all pretty much desperate men here
|
And that's the end of the thread? :D
|
THE END
(happy?) |
As long as you're happy.

And my barbies dated my brother's Ninja Turtles and Transformers instead of lame-o Ken. His snazzy outfits were pleasing to they eye, but he just couldn't compete with transforming robots and ninjas. But ooh... my brother certainly did not like when Optimus Prime was out on a date haha. |

I DON'T BELIEVE THAT FOR A SECOND :usehead: |
