Yo. My name is Smash Cash but you could call me Cash(I prefer you call me Cash actually). I'm 20 and I'm trying to be a rapper. I'm joining this site cause I feel like I need some more help with lyrics. So yeah...drop the comments below if you want. Pretty soon you should see stuff from me.

I sure hope not, because then a moderator would have to ban you for violating our rules in regards to people signing up for the sole purpose of advertising their music, and that would make me sad :(

I'm not advertising. I'm posting to see what people think of my lyrics so I can get better. Yes, the lyrics are on songs that I've made, but I'm not advertising. If people end up liking my work, then cool.

But thanks for the heads up. I hope you give me some criticism in the future.

The point he's making is that you can't/shouldn't start posting stuff of your own here within a few posts, or within the post-limit needed to allow you to use links, as otherwise it looks like you're just using the forum to promote yourself, which is not what we're all about.

When LP says "advertising", he doesn't necessarily mean advertising for financial gain, but you are advertising if you're displaying your work and asking for people to comment on it. We will do that in due course if you want, but you need to become known here first. Get involved in some discussions, open a thread or two, look around. After a while, if you want to, you can post your stuff in the appropriate sub-forum.

But if you just hang around here till you're technically allowed to post links and then do so, and don't do anything else, then you will get banned. This isn't a forum for one person, and that sort of behaviour is absolutely frowned upon.
