What's up, my name is Derek and I'm a 31 year old musician from Dallas, TX (originally from Wichita, KS). I was searching for a forum to chat about new indie bands and such and found this one.

I'm mainly a songwriter and sing, play guitar, bass, drums, etc.. Some bands I'm into include: Broken Social Scene, Foals, Helio Sequence, Ra Ra Riot, Minus the Bear, Nada Surf, and I'll always have a soft spot for Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

I'm in 2 original bands, Shapes & Faces and Bawcomville (aske me about them!)

Hi Amy. That's awesome about your band. I'll have to look them up. I sing and play guitar in a band called Shapes & Faces, which is kind of a cross of indie/new wave and classic rock. And I play lead guitar in a band called Bawcomville, which is like a cross of Dinosaur Jr. and REM. I'd send a link if they'd let me!
