Larger avatars need to be set up by a mod. You just need to post a link to the avatar you want in the avatar requests thread. There's a full explanation of how it works in the OP of that thread. Please just make sure any avatar you pick is no wider than 175px.

This is a nooby question I know, I've only been here for a day, but how do you make signatures?

Go to your User CP (control panel) in the top left of your screen. Select Edit Signature, add what you want. Be aware that there is a character limit (think it's about 100). If you want to put in a quote just copy it (by selecting it from the QUOTE button) and paste it into your sig.
