Default Hey everyone.

....Hey. I'm Kelli and I'm a writer/college student from Cincinnati, Ohio. I'm into lots of different kinds of music, particularly classic rock.... But my favorite decade is probably the '90s. I love the Britpop and grunge music scenes.. Oh and shoegaze is cool. The '90s had good indie scenes. I love concerts - the first one I ever went to was U2, haha. Also I collect vinyl records and I've been playing piano for over ten years. I'm currently teaching myself acoustic guitar, so yeah... That's me musically.

I think I'll like this website since my friends and I always love talking about music and I'm hoping to start my own blog soon. Also I'm taking a History of Rock n Roll class next semester for my art credit, and I'm sure I'll have a lot I want to talk about once I get into that.. Ha.

Well anyways, hello.

Anyway, welcome Kelli and if you're thinking of starting a blog you should check out the "members journals" section...

Hope to see you around (and your invisible friend!)

Welcome Kelli...and Kelli!

I read your question about emoticons in another intro thread...

So I want to tell you that UnderdogCrash is correct that the emoticons are to the right of the window in which you type when you are replying to a post. However, you need to select "Go Advanced" when replying in order to see the emoticon options. If you select "Post Quick Reply," the emoticon options won't show up.

Once you have selected "Go Advanced," then you can type your message and when you get to the place where you want to put in a smiley you simply click on the image you want to the right of the screen. It will then be inserted into your text. If you click on [More], then you can see the full list of emoticons available at MusicBanter.

Try it and see if it works!

Here's a cute one:

Kelli! I can always count on you to post a brilliant and well informed response. I am also new to this site. Was looking for a place to talk music, and here it is!

I am also an author! I have about 10 good story ideas right now. I am looking into self publishing on Amazon for the Kindle. From what I understand it's the quickest most no-fuss way to get your work out there.

I looked into getting an agent and publisher and that was a nightmare even to think about! You have to send people thousands of dollars to even listen to you....what???? Fo' real! I ain't gonna do it! Kindle here I come!

Oh the reason I said all of that was to suggest it to you if you had not thought of it yet.

Hey, I know you! Yeah about independent publishing - I think the one you're talking about through Amazon is Createspace. That's what I used to self-publish my first book and am pretty happy with how it turned out. I mean yeah, I'd love to have my stuff published 'for real' but for now I feel like this is the best place to start. You also get the option for people to download it on Kindle (like you said) & you can actually make a decent percentage of the profits that way.

What kinda stuff do you write?
