Hey guys! I stumbled upon this forum today by total accident, and after looking around for about an hour I'm pretty pumped to have found it. I love discussing music/albums all the time but I rarely find anyone to talk with! So this will be great. I also try to write reviews when I can, so eventually getting feedback on those will be pretty great too.

Some artists I have been digging lately are: Destroyer, Girls, Foals, My Bloody Valentine, Wild Nothing, Local Natives, Killer Mike, Cities Aviv, James Blake, Azaelia Banks, Andy Stott, The Antlers... and the list goes on!

I look forward to talking to you guys in the future!

Oh jeeze. It's really hard to only choose 5, I could probably make a list of my top 50.. but if I had to, they'd be:

1. In Rainbows - Radiohead
2. Eulogy for Evolution - Olafur Arnalds
3. Untrue - Burial
4. You're a Woman, I'm a Machine - Death from Above 1979
5. Illinois - Sufjan Stevens

He's good stuff. Mostly classical instrumental in a more modern context.
I've posted him doing work with Nihls Frahm before on this site. It's somewhere here.

Anyway, here's my fave from Olafur at the moment.

Do check out Eulogy for Evolution, though. Great stuff on that album. Same sort of vibe with maybe less of an electronic interjection. The kind of thing that's a definite go-to when you need that sorta thing.

Olafur Arnalds is incredible. Another example of amazing Icelandic music.

Yeah, what I like a lot about Eulogy for Evolution is how it plays as one long piece of music. It's gapless with themes and variations that appear throughout, and the strings are so well arranged. Perfect rainy day music!
