Adam - Introduction
 

Hey guys!
My name is Adam and I'm 25, currently living in New York City.
I love all genres of music but particularly am interested in EDM and electro-pop. I do also have a soft spot for all types of rock. I play various instruments and used to be a recording artist (with some success IMO), though I had to give it up because it's too damn tough to make a living.

Anyway, I'm here to learn about new music, discuss classics, and hopefully take part in some interesting discussion!

Black Bird White sky

Though my all time favorite artists are a bit different:
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Beatles
Smashing Pumpkins
Tiesto
Muse

I know it's a random list, but I bet those would be at the top of my iPod post-played haha.

How about Vampire Weekend? I'm looking for a co-fan.

Out of your favorite artists, I love the Beatles and Smashing Pumpkins as well... what are some of your favorite albums of theirs?

Also I listened to Black Bird White Sky recently and they're pretty good. I can only name a few of their songs, but I checked out their 2011 album a few days ago because a friend recommended it. I'm not familiar with your other recent favorites, though.

Thanks! I can't say I like their style too much, so I can't truly become a co-fan (sorry!). Though I liked their song 'a punk' or whatever when I heard it once.

Electro/pop mostly. It's what I've been intro lately. Jay+Tonic right now is my jam. Plus I like him because he produces, writes, and sings all his own music (which if you hear is impressive because it doesn't sound very "indie)

Yeah, most don't. "A-punk" was the big one. My husband loathes them and I'm accused of being biased about any and all things they put out.

I just checked out a couple samples of his stuff. Not really my cup of tea, but I do always respect self-produced people so kudos to him for that. :0

Yeah if you don't like pop or EDM then I understand not really liking it :)

Huh! What don't you like about it? I'm always interested in people's taste, especially within genres.

Well, I wasn't a fan of the vocals for one thing and overall it just didn't grab me.

I've been on this forum for 4 years now and I'm still not quite sure what EDM is :o:
