Hey All
Hello Everybody!
My name is Ben, I am 23 years old and I have recently acquired a Denon turntable from my fiance's aunt. My tastes in music is varied, but I mostly stick to classic rock and ballads(AC/DC, Foreigner, Billy Joel, Cheap Trick, etc.) though i do like more contemporary indie rock. My fiance enjoys country music, especially Reba and Blake Shelton. I have a small collection of 24 vinyls right now which i have gotten mostly from Goodwill, Half Price Books, and the Exclusive company. I hope this site will help me connect with other music lovers who have a wider expanse of knowledge on vinyls and will help me learn more as my collection grows. I look forward to engaging in discussion and debate with you all. See you on the boards Ben |
Welcome.
What is your favorite vinyl that you own? |
I was just about to start a thread asking everyone what their treasures in their collections were lol.
My two prized albums so far are both Billy Joel albums; his first one Turnstiles, and the album from his live concert in Russia KohUept. I believe they are both first editions, though i am not sure. I checked discogs.com and put in the serial numbers, but i'm not exactly sure the difference between when its stated as Release and Master Release. I'd appreciate a bit of insight on that topic from anyone who could give it. A couple other albums i have that i am proud of are Steve Miller Band; Fly like an Eagle (also possibly first edition) Jimmy Hendrix Smash Hits, and George Thorougood and the Destroyers Maverick. |
I have Steve Miller Band's Fly Like An Eagle myself, first pressing of course.
The few gems in my collection are 1988 reprints of Bauhaus's Bela Lugosi's Dead 12'' singles, I have it in blue wax and the picture disc, a German first pressing of Klaus Nomi's self titled, Judas Priest's Screaming For Vengence, Rocket To Russia and a Portuguese import of It's Alive from the Ramones, and Johnny Cash's Live At San Quentin. Everything being a first pressing of course. |
