I used to think it was unfair but now i kinda get why it has to be that way..

You didn't seem to have that problem though, you're fairly new here and you seem to naturally fit in around here.

I came for the music; I stayed for the proverbial scratching post that keeps my defense mechanisms sharp.

Yeah nobody really stays for the music.

I wanna think your name means Number 13 baby so i will.. cool name bro. :)

There's a reason for that, most new members are too scared to start threads or post cause the regulars around here run this joint and they'll chew them out just for laughs. you gotta gain some notoriety around here before they respect you and even when you do some members around here will still look for any flaws in your argument so they can outshine you.

But fear not newcomers, stick to your guns and learn how to brush off insults and you'll all be fine. :thumb:

Maybe I was just lucky, but I've never had the feeling that people were out to get me when I was new here. It actually struck me as a quite friendly place.

Well, there was a time when more new threads were started, but they were often along the lines of...

*Thread Title = Arbitrary Band Name*

"Hey, guys!!! I think *arbitrary band* is pretty wizard!!!"

"Yeah, man, they're pretty good."

"They're okay..."

"I like '*arbitrary song name 1', 'arbitrary song name 2', and 'arbitrary song name 3'."

"They were better before *arbitrary sellout album*."

"Have any of you checked out their new album?"

"Yeah, it was okay, but nowhere near as good as *arbitrary fan favorite album*."

"BEST. ALBUM. EVAR!!!"

*thread dies*

*series of arbitrary necrobumps*

Thanks for the warm welcomes.

I wouldn't worry about me being sensitive to hazing. I don't give a fuq what my close friends say about my musical preferences so I sure as hell don't give a fuq what anonymous idiots with internet access have to say. I don't listen to music to impress other people. I do it because I like it and soothes my heartless soul.

If people knew how little I truly cared about their opinions they'd stop giving them to me.
