How do you do?

I see you've met my faithful handyman
He's just a little brought down because
When you knocked
He thought you were the candyman

I was told quoting Rocky Horror was the best way to make friends...
Let's see...my age is short, my hair is blue, I like horror movies soundtracks and artsy punk, and I have a horrible sense of humor but that doesn't stop me from trying.

Nice to meet you, I suppose.

Artsy punk is the bees knees

Welcome, friend.

Welcome to MB.
What bands do you file under artsy punk?

Two Spirit 03-03-2016 02:02 AM

I'm doing fine.

Uh, a bunch of stuff, I guess...The Slits, The Raincoats, Wire, maybe Virgin Prunes, or The Chameleons, and then Joy Division, of course, to name a few...Then there are bands more like City of Caterpillar and Circle Takes the Square...not that Joy Division and City of Caterpillar have anything to do with each other (except for being angsty), but...

I also like Bauhaus and Foetus, and a bunch of other stuff like that, but they're a bit different I suppose...

I've only been listening to music for a few years, so I have a lot of weird gaps in my knowledge, and I don't know a lot of classic bands that everyone else in the world knows...

I was actually listening to the Modern Dance album yesterday! I've heard it before and I like it a lot, but I think it might take a few more listens for some of it to sink in...

Is any of their other stuff worth checking out?

Definitely. Quite a lot of their stuff is pretty damn great.
You have to have a stomach for their special brand of weirdness though.

Cool, I'll check some more of their stuff out. Yeah, as soon as I heard them I know that they were something special. They really have their own sound.

Um...do you know why my post number isn't going up? Do replies not count or something?

Dub Housing is a good place to go from Modern Dance.

Only posts in "The Music Forums" count.
