We have a ton of them here in Louisiana. They're obnoxiously loud, but it's kinda pleasant to listen to out in the country in the summer. When the multitude of them are in rhythm, a certain frequency they get to at the end of their call sounds very much electronic! It's fun to listen to.

Quite a few where I used to live (nashville TN) as well. First time I saw one I think I shat my pants. I thought it was a ****ing superfly or something, and just ran. The awful sound they make :(
