I'm assuming the change happened when our current lords and masters bought the site and cracked down on "fun"?

A lot of it had to do with the older members leaving the site and becoming inactive. Then there was a long stem of time where the mods would crack down on everything, including inappropriate posts. Nowadays, it's much more laxed, but back then, it was even more laxed in terms of people throwing insults at each other, at least until some mods decided to take actions into their own hands and start turning this into a jail with all the rules and whatnot.

I feel like I coulda been somebody back then. Not somebody anyone would want to know, but somebody.

It certainly was a lot more clique'y back then, and i'm sure dj can attest to that. You had the "right track / Urban / Crowquill" crew, then you had the "Murder Junkie / adidasss / etc" crew. And others.

Do we have crews? I feel like there aren't enough active people to form well-defined "crews".
