why do people even use image shack? have they never heard of photobucket?????

Yes. Find a site like image shack, photobucket or tinypic and upload the file. You can't like it from your own computer, it needs to be on the net for it to be posted on forums (unless you use the attachment function).

Hotlinking means linking to a file that isn't on your own server. I think Pheurton more means he's showing the "url" she tried to use which is just a direct link to the file on her PC.

I use photobucket. But imageshack doesn't resize your pictures when you upload them.
