Where did that come from? Do you really think everyone thinks Navy guys are gay? I really think you're intelligent enough to know that we're making a joke that's a reflection of an obviously ridiculous and outdated perception.

I'll try not to make any assumptions though, and let you provide whatever evidence you're going to provide.

Actually nothing was really about you until you made it about you.
Plus you spelled "individuals" wrong.

Wink.

It takes a bit longer but it looks official.
Isn't everyone taught like this?

You forgot to do the hand motions for the watching you part

Also you could have posted that in the Cafe, it's no holds barred. Sometimes people aren't drinking, sometimes music isn't playing in the background. Doesn't really matter much.

Oh, I know that way also but I just don't do it that way. Does seem like it would be slightly quicker.

And that yields a better knot?

I was taught the same way as Burning Down posted, and used that method all through school (when it was quick to do, and no one really cared how their tie looked). Then someone would pull on it and make the knot ridiculously tight. Since I left school I learned the proper symmetrical way to tie one, because imo it looks much better (and with age comes more awareness of what looks smart in a suit)
